Uluru we love you!

On our way to the rock

No one mentioned there was an impersonator...funny!
This was Mt Connor, aptly named

It was a gorgeous day

First glimpse

How cool, we were all so excited

When we got up closer in the car, it was dawning on us what an impressive rock, landmark it really is!!

The surface of the rock was quite extraordinary.
Giving the thumbs up at the view from the bottom.
The climb is not for knees that have been through four knee reconstructions!

 Casey almost out of view.
This is no exaggeration of camera angle. It is extremely steep and Casey and Esther were the only two that actually climbed it...Casey getting to the top on his own.
Benjamin was a little upset he wasn't allowed (yes, I made him stay nearer the ground).

He made it, to the top and back.
Very proud of himself, as I would be, had I got passed chicken rock!

My two climbers.
Esther disappointed she didn't bring her camera up to the top to take a 'proof' shot...but couldn't manage to carry a thing with her. It was hang on or slide down'

Me on chicken rock

Bit of fun, after the climb
If you look at this photo above, you can see that the chain to aid your climb does not actually start until further up, meaning you have to get passed the steepest bit on your own...

 Conqueror of mountains!!

Waiting for the sunset that never came...oh well...it was grand!

Tomorrow The Olgas (Kata Tjuta meaning 'many heads')
