Normanton to the Curry

We wanted to say we'd been to the top of the bite...Queensland
The Gulf of Carpentaria

By-Karumba! We got there

And on the way we found this sneaky boy, crossing the road

Each town has about three signs welcoming you...
As you can see there aren't a lot of people in Karumba

On the edge of our world

Don't know what these brolgas were doing but there definitely showed off, as they flapped and jumped over the long grass

We drove into this cattle yard to find the aboriginal cattlemen branding them, oh and a few jillaroos.

Cloncurry our first stop after Normanton, on our way to Longreach.

These are the wild cattle in the scrub. Stations are massive here.

Beautiful water lilies over a very rare sight of water.

Apparently this croc was shot back in the day (1957) and this is a life size replica....there were photos verifying but they were lost in the flood....likely story!!

Just one of the entrances to the stations in the outback

Oh...this is Benjamin while I was trying to take a photo of his FIRST pimple!!

There were thousands of ant hills, these were only small

winding in the km's now

Phil now a 'truckie' has the wave down pat

This was a small road train, carting cattle. Others have four trailers.

Stunning hills and rocky mountains dot the landscape. Amazing to see such large rocks in the middle of nowhere.

Just relaxing as he drives

Heading over the bridge into town

Visitor information centre and museum

Lots of 'K's'

The boys adding to the game along the highway. All the anthills for miles were dressed in shirts

Benjamin finding a very small hill to dress...funny boy. Casey found it amusing!

Casey doing the opposite and finding the biggest

Love this shot of my boys...following there Father's footsteps

just a little cheeky

having a bit of a joke with his brother, just happens to be in the middle of the main road

Funny landscape...

Another K another town

Big hay stacks...first we've seen

Lots of windmills dot the landscape

Winton had the dinosaurs

Apparently...most towns have been great

Most towns do like to welcome you well, just in case you missed the first sign

"Look Mum, its wobbly"

Really impressed with the rail ambulance. Kept in all her glory at the Mary Kathleen museum in Cloncurry.

How much Casey??!!

Now stop telling 'Furphy's'!

Beautiful view from the top of a small peak

The best display of rocks and minerals we have ever seen. Right here in Cloncurry

The discovery that put the little town on the map

Wow!! They're everywhere!!!
