massive mining towns need roads in and out and they had plenty
Passing a Tonka Truck
Going over another river, with water
A lot of nothing to look at
Entering Roebourne, on some good advice from a friend, we kept on driving after a short break.
They did round-abouts well
And another
Exploring the comings and goings of the town
It was very pretty
We even met The Red Dog!...well not "The"
Lakes and lakes of salt...
The kids thought it was amazing, as did I
Phil couldn't help himself, he had to stop and let them collect.
Just looked like snow
Or ice forming on puddles
I found it fascinating and really beautiful
It was just floating...
collected and dried, ready to cook with
Just down the road 20km we found lovely place to 'camp' the night, but we weren't so keen to take a dip...
We had a lovely dinner, cooked again by moi, and a toasty campfire with marshmallows, with some didge music again...this is the life!
Tomorrow was another long trip to get to Exmouth.
Crossing another beautiful river
Its what we do...shorts cos its hot and slippers, well cos she wants to keep her feet clean
Heading up the road a bit
They are terrific at keeping their roadsides clear and well maintained.
Definitely in mining country when this is at the entrance to your 'driveway'
Almost like highways for their machinery and trains carting iron ore to Karratha.
Got to see the Tonkas in action
Really is an outback coast
Its the way we went...
