Coral Bay to Monkey Mia

Not too bad a drive today...

Stopping at Coral Bay on the way, as we heard it was a nice place to stay...

When we arrive there was only one place to turn around, so after a snorkel we moved on to the next town. We are finding that free camping is not tolerated along the coast...

Off they go again!

While they were off snorkelling I found a school of snapper at the shore ready for feeding...

Benjamin jumped in with them...

Just a quick stop to pick a small bunch of paper-like flowers.

Just beautiful

Stopped on the side of the road. It was getting dark and there are too many cattle wandering to keep going.

Getting a small fire ready to eat tea beside.

She'll be a professional when she gets back.

Self explanatory...

Lots of crops being grown around Canarvan...bananas, tomatoes and what looks like paw paw but not quite sure...

Apparently, this is the Big Banana here in Canarvan....

Phil caught up with a friend he hadn't seen in years at the 1 mile pier.

I didn't read about this in Canarvan...but it was some kind of memorial.
This picture was taken by Benjamin.

Might try ordering a flat white next time, I think "Latte" might mean something else in the language of "West Australian"

A dish as you leave Canarvan

The levy bank, of red sand, that will be soon covered in rock

You always have to be on the look out for stray stock, or it could mean the end of the trip.

Well there you go, I didn't even know there was such a thing. We passed this a couple of times on the way to Monkey Mia, as we headed South and then back up, North.

The gateway to the World Heritage Area...

Arrived at Denham just after sunset, only to find we didn't fit in the caravan park heading into town and with no camping signs everywhere, we just hoped we didn't get a fine, parking near the foreshore...

Up at the crack of dawn with a knock on our bus, by a very nice ranger, who let us off.
Not a very friendly town at all, in fact, I'd go so far as to say. Least friendly holiday town in Australia so far...mentality here is all wrong to attract those who bring money to your door Denham.

We couldn't get around this corner either to get through the gate...
Funny now but it wasn't at the time, when the lady at the gate saw us just drive straight passed her.

This was Eliza's view in cold water waiting over half an hour.

Well at least we have one happy boy.
He was one of 150 odd people to get picked to feed the dolphins.

Having fun on the sand dunes, keeping warm while we all had toast and coffee, using the generator a great friend loaned us. Thanks Mark!!!

Just a reminder that we really are welcome

Back into Denham to fill up before heading down the coast...if only it were easier to get into the fuel station...

A view into town, it really wasn't the friendliest of towns, no recommendations here.

We 'camped' overnight in the spot this white van is parked in...

I don't think so...the only fuel station we managed to squeeze into was on the corner of this round about and even then, I stopped traffic into it while Phil waited down the road, ready to come in when all cars had left, just so he didn't block traffic in the main street...

All of what you see them walking on are tiny white shells. No sand in sight!

A solid brick of shells.

Do you wanna build a snowman?!

Doesn't have to be a snowman...

One very cheeky face!!

120km of shells

10 metres deep...do you think they'll miss a bucket load?

The desert in bloom

It was so beautiful...the simple things in life

hand picked for me in the bus...just beautiful

Dad teaching the kids about agate...it was just so funny...in the middle of nowhere, while stopping to pick flowers, we find it here...

How cool is this!!

This is what happens when your agates are too heavy for your pants!!

Very interesting but the kids thought it was the biggest waist of time...can't convince them otherwise.

fascinating formations

Heading down to Geraldton

And the scenery begins to get green

The crops so close to the sea are amazing...

So amusing, they do it to keep amused on the long trips, but their dancing keeps all of us amused, tears run down your face!!

A paddock of canola

 Strike like a Tiger...yeahhh

We got 50km out of Geralton and its getting just on dusk. I have roast chicken ready for tea, so we find a place to park for the night...

This looks as good a place as any.
