A quick dip before we leave...Litchfield

From Darwin back to Katherine on to Litchfield National Park

We had heard that Wangi Falls was beautiful...

Passing through Batchelor to get to the National Park

Cattle grates across the roads are common here with cautions all along the route warning of wandering stock.

Just in case Phil missed the 100's before!

Again, more burning off. The birds just waiting for something to run out, to swoop, more very clever creation

We all learned about Magnetic Termites...they are amazing!

These towers are massive!

and often home to more than termites...sometimes snakes and goannas...ewww

Benjamin the photographer!

Headed for the falls.

This sign is significant here because to get to the descent we had to get up the hill, which you can see was very steep...we nearly didn't make it up.
Phil missed a gear and then stalled the bus, failing on a number of occasions to restart, sliding backwards down the hill....scary!!!

Made it!!

It was very picturesque.

But very, very cold...couldn't keep them out though...
"Victorians!!"

I love this photo

These trees grow everywhere...love to know there name. Casey just calls them a pineapple tree.

Esther!!!

This was the second dip, this time just before sun down.

Only one I will post in bathers...only just enough of me hiding, even then too much showing!!
Esther's nearly taller than me...
Tarzan!

For those of you wondering....

Yes even Casey got in...

Unlce Mark and Aunty Marianne, I would love you to tell me what kind of bird this is...
note the funny feather things sticking out of his cheeks...
Looked like a cross between a penguin and a kingfisher...strange looking thing. He didn't make a sound, just sat there for ages looking into the stream and on only a few occasions looked like he was trying to catch something.

The boys were wishing they could get their bow and arrows out and catch tea!

Those bird-like things in the sky were bats and that was the beginning of what was probably at least 50-60.

This is a replica of one built (full size) overseas.

You are now entering a round about...

Wait, where is it?

Oh, you mean that painted line thingy!!

Polly this is how you cart explosive items!!

  1. Had a quick look in the book but can't find anything at first glance. We'll see what we can come up with. In the meantime, perhaps you've heard of Google? M&M
