Piccinini Ponds - Magnificent!!!

On the way to Portland, we found a detour...

Just some lovely scenery...just so beautiful.

Harvesting the Pine Plantation

We decided to stop for sandwiches in the bus before exploring the Ponds.

Eliza found a little friend, of course. He was very cute.

The pontoon was a little scary.

It was quite deep, over four metres and it just seeps through the aquifers made of limestone, up to the surface.

The water was so clear!

Amazing!

Such a pretty painting!

Inseparable!

This is the place where the fresh crystal clear limestone water enters the sea.

Soft limestone.

A brave crossing! Oh I wish I could see his face.

He made it...now he has to come back...hehehe

Apparently, Casey said he saw something shiny, a pearl...

Go for it Dad!! you can reach it!!

All that 'egging on' and he gives it a go...mmmm this will be interesting!!

Nice legs Phil!!

Cold water...LOL

So funny to see...oh the tears...

What made it funnier were the kids reactions.

He couldn't get out of there quick enough.

Benjamin was well amused.

Killing himself laughing!!
So great to see.

Congratulations Dad!! You are officially a tool!

We'll give it another go shall we?

You are a goose.

Esther, couldn't believe he could do it twice.

Oh look, its only a shiny rock! not a pearl at all!!

What a perfect day

Crystal clear sky, crystal clear water.

Crossing back, this should be simple!

Eliza was a bit unsure as the sand actually was quite soft and you sunk if you stopped too long.
Just follow Dad.

Well that was a refreshing dip...or two.

Look Mum, I'm sinking.

Think I'll leave her there!

Using a bad bit of rope in case he sinks too far... not that it would help at all.

It's not a bone, its a piece of seaweed.
Look at those muscles.

If you look closely you can see the bubbling out of the sand.
This is the fresh water bubbling out from the underground aquifers.

Look kids, there it is!!

You actually sunk down into the hole.

Phil put his arm in as far as he could to see what he could find.

All sorts of shells and stones

Amazing to think, its just coming up through the sand, right underneath your feet.

They spent ages playing around

So peaceful.

Some fun finds we left there.
This one was still 'alive'.

Bye-Bye South Australia

Hello Victoria!
