From the Ponds to Portland

Made it home...well almost...

Lots of pine coming out of the forests...haven't seen where it's all going yet.

The sun is starting to set...its a lovely light.

The town of Portland.

Ha-hah!!! this is where all the pine is coming to.

Oh! My! Goodness!! Look at that angle!!

There are quite a few ramps for more than one truck at a time...I don't think I'd like that job!

Next morning it was time to explore...first the wharf.

This is where we 'camped' the night.
Right on waterfront, next to the information centre, just below the main street. No noise.

They had a little tram that went around the foreshore and city.

Off for a drive to the lighthouse. It can obvo

These blades are absolutely massive!

mmmm...it looks like its on a bit of a lean...maybe its just the way I took the shot...

Just holding up the house!

Right on the edge...

This was a very beautiful spot.

Heading just back up the road a bit to Cape Bridgewater.

These formations were amazing, whatever your thoughts on how they were formed.

Perfect size for the little Miss.

There were many of these rings all over the ground.

This was pretty weird. It was like a hard stone tree trunk embedded in soft sand.

Just an interesting photo of these 'ancient' formations with the modern windmill in the background.

Finding 'inner peace'...

Almost moon-like.

This was a tiny blow, I missed the big one...unfortunately.

It was just beautiful...
I need to extend my vocabulary because beautiful just doesn't describe it well enough.

I got caught trying to make a few adjustments.

The kids are just letting off steam...enough room for them all.

Peek-a-boo!!

This was a very clever use materials in a very appropriate theme.
I definitely thought of my Aunty who would love this.

We have had a good look around Portland and now ready to move on to Warnnambool.
